English Language challenges

I n my opinion, within the compulsory activities of the course, blogs have been the most entertaining part, since in them we can talk about ourselves, our careers, our interests, goals and expectations, or sometimes we simply try to fix the world. Most of them have been very entertaining to write and it is something that breaks with the daily routine, however, I would like the topics to be freer, that one can write about something in English, anything, so that in this way it flows creativity of students. I think one of the great personal challenges I have in writing these blogs is trying to make sense and coherence of the discourse. Because I am a person with attention deficit, many times I lose my ideas within two seconds of having thought of them because a fly passes by or because someone is talking to me. Changes to my study programme

  I think I would make a lot of changes to my syllabus. In my opinion the degree is unnecessarily long, in other countries the Chemistry degree lasts 4 years, but here in Chile it lasts almost 6 years. Some courses such as Introduction to Calculus would eliminate it, and the matter seen in that course would be compacted and incorporated into Differential Calculus. I would do the same with General Chemistry I and General Chemistry II, I would merge them into a single subject called General Chemistry. Similarly there are several courses that can be merged. As for the academic hours, as many courses will cover several contents, these should be at least 3 classes a week, and for this reason students should not take more than 5 courses per semester, so that they do not stress over so many things to study. Time Travel to the future

With everything we see on a daily basis about global warming and how humans have been destroying planet Earth, I don't think there is a hopeful future for humanity, but if I had that time travel to the future I would like to believe that at some point in history we became aware of our actions and managed to reverse global warming. I imagine traveling close to 100 years in the future. I would like to see what has happened to Chile in all this time, and if it is possible and it still exists, I would like to visit the place where I was born. I hope that in all this time it has grown and goes from being a town to a small city, with good schools, hospitals and even cinemas and commercial stores that today it is impossible to think that they are installed in such a small town. My future job

  I love chemistry. Everything around us is made up of chemical compounds and their interactions, which is why in my view it is one of the most important sciences in life. However, I think that the Chemistry major has been a devalued over time. Despite all this I dream of being able to work in some large industry, be it a mining industry or a perfume industry, I like the fact of knowing new chemical techniques, new manufacturing processes and inserting myself in a large work team, but that each professional has their own assigned tasks. I like being locked up in the laboratory, being able to be in my own world and forget about the outside for a few hours. My professional practice

The best holidays

  The best vacations of my life were three years ago, in the summer of 2019. It was a spontaneous trip, we did not have a defined place or an established panorama, we only traveled by car to the south of Chile and we found a small town located between Villarrica and Pucón where we settled. The house where we stayed did not have drinking water, it was far from the city and I had to share a room with my sister, but the place was beautiful, there was a lot of vegetation everywhere, the place was quiet and the man who rented the house to us he gave away fruit, vegetables and eggs During the day we went out to visit the nearby towns, we went to bathe in lakes and rivers, and even one day we went to Chiloé.
